I saw star trek and it got me to think...

in it, all the advanced species, including humans, were all united under 1 global government. i think it is that we will not greatly advance as a species until we unite as one global country. do any of u think this is true?

That will never happen until we find other signs of life, and the need of a world government arises, we are just too enriched to our cultures to abandon them. I don't necessarily think one global country would improve us as a species, I think more synergy and continue cooperation by each nation to improve the infrastructures of third world countries and to encourage hard working men and women to invent and improve new and old things, so that we can make our world a better place to live in for everyone. taking care of the basics will help lay the foundation for the improvement of humanity. let us worry about taking care of ourselves before we start to worry about advancing as a species or worrying about who else is out there in space.

One global government would be a complete failure. Competition between nations, cultures, etc. is a good thing; COMPETITION is what makes us advance as a species.

but wen u look at movies they species is all united and they are rly advanced. in star trek it was each species that was a differnt part of a galactic government.

Lol. I went to the movies and saw a movie called "The Ring". When you watch this video, the phone calls and tells you that you'll die in 7 days, and it happens! I'm not kidding man, don't watch the f'in video or you'll DIE!

But seriously, just cause you see it in a movie doesn't mean that it's necesarily true. Hollywood can make up a video of whatever they want to.

Look up Birth of a nation, it's a movie and you'll see what I mean when movies don't tell exactly the truth.
