A WARNING TO HOMBREW USERS!!!

there is a rumor going around stating that nintendo may update our wiis automaticaly without the whole "Please click the 'update' button to update to wiimenu version x.x" (like xbox 360) so i have taken off the homebrew channel and i advise you do the same. and even if you dont have homebrew channel be aware that the newest version of the wii menu has been known to brick consoles that haven't even had homebrew so expect a new wii update soon

its more convenient for MOST of the people who bought wiis

nintendo wont probably mess up the second time, so its ok

Well, all we can do is wait and see.

they cant do that. i just opened my wii and got a little something that gets the updates out of em. i switched that with a little something else. idk if it will still come through but it still works fine...

EDIT: Why cant they just let us keep our homebrew. Plus for 1 of these dam games its like 60 bucks right there
for a effin game that isnt that good.

Lol, anyone who actually hacks a Wii knows how to block Nintendo updates 100%... You guys don't actually have modded Wiis, do you?
In other news, Nintendo announced they would do this about a month ago.

well i got rid of mine just in case. your best bet on preventing the automatic update it to turn off wiiconnect 24. and considering an update can potentialy brick a wii with homebrew... i though it would be best to GET RID of mine. unless your wii is not hooked 2 teh interwebz your not safe

i dont think i am gonna get rid of my hbc. I nEED IT.
im just gonna get starfall hacks or something to block the updates . ct told me it would do that so im just gonna stick with that.

well, i guess it isnt too bad for me since i dont use hbc as much anymore, but it would be nice to keep the textures and hacks i got. now i just need to know how to get rid of it.

textures easy. did you use the sd card way which i did or the iso. the sd you stick it in and remove your pf folder with all that textures in it and the app folder WITH the textures in it.
and i never knew you had hbc (XD)
and i would not get rid of it. but wtvr do what u want

well y would u have homebrew in the first place its just plain hacking and cheating which in some cases is wrong lol

Hacking can be used to make the Wii a more capable system. (Custom GH/Brawl, custom Virtual Console, bigger Wii System Memory, Store all games on an external hard drive, plus play GBA and PS1 games too.) If the Wii wasn't hacked, I would probably have sold it by now. Anyway, if you can get to 3.2, you can hack it to block all forms of updates; disc, network, etc. Using Starfall and by turning off WiiConnect24. Also, hacking online in Mario Kart/etc will not, in fact, get you banned, but using something like a Mii named "Moe Lester" will. There are various ways to downgrade your Wii to 3.2 and then update it to be able to play 4.2-era games. It all depends on your system, though. My method was to just stay on 3.2 and update only the parts I want by doing it manually (which, incidentally, is very easy).

lol moe lester that was one of my codwaw wii names, and hacking on Monster Hunter 3 will get you banned for 7777 years
