Awards and Money Systems for the Forums

I think it would be beneficial to have award and money systems similar to those at RM. Not only would they show people's accomplishments, they would also make people more inclined to post.

The awards system simply has awards that you've earned. The awards are put on the member's profiles.

The money system is a system where each post you make earns you so much money. This money can be used to buy certain clan goods from a clan shop that we would have set up. (It doesn't have to be complex, an admin would aimply take away how much money was spent and apply what they bought)


I know RM uses InvisionFree, but one of the admins here could ask one of the admins there if we could use the code.

In all honesty though, I'd rather have an award system than a reputation system, because like Drew said, it's basically a popularity contest and has the potential to make other members feel bad about themselves.

yea were gettin ridda the rep thing

we will have set things that people can get Medals of Honor for

like:

-winning a cw match (medal will focus on the game played)
-recruiting a certain amt of proven active members (new mem. posts who recruited them)
-succesfully planning and running a certain amt of wars (mods and up only)
-almost always being in the chat 2 keep it active
-always being friendly
-loyalty medal (4 ppl who have never quit ......or for over 6 months at least)
-PROVEN offsite recruiting- member makes a page on a site like facebook and such or mostly,makes a post about us giving a URL......post links 2 posts of u advertising us lets saaayyy....10 times? 20? then u get a medal 4 it

btw, almost all of these medals will b able 2 b revoked if necessary


also sum other things ppl do that we need 2 administer points 4 is

-coming to any kind of planned clan event (wars, practices, tourneys, meetings especially, etc)
-coming to a certain amt. of clan events in a row w/o even missing 1
-playing in a war (base pts for showing up, more if u play)
-winning a cw match(base pts 4 coming and playing, even more if u win)
-recruiting an active member (that will post in a thread we make specifically 4 that, saying who recruited them)
-making an offsite post on another gaming site about WOA and proving it


btw 4 the 2 separate things, medals and points, i kno i repeated sum 4 both so it seems like ppl will b rewarded twice, but......the points will be like a smaller, daily kinda thing........the medals are LONG TERM rewards.....4 showing this great behavior 4 extended amts of time...not just a week

Perhaps temporary awards for whoever is currently in the top posters list? That would make some people more motivated to post as well. (I'm not just suggesting that because I'm IN the Top Posters. I'm not like that, lol.)

And maybe one for our Graphic designers as well to show that their hard, free, time-consuming hard work is appreciated.

Other than that, what you said sounds great, Drew. We just need a pic/pics for the awards. (The link I put in my first post explains how to set up the award system )

hmm, well i was definetly already thinkin of givin gfx designers a special one, but the criteria will b they have 2 have served at least 10 people a WOA sig in their, or the clan sig shop...that will b a lot of service done for our members and i think after all thosesigs served 2 ppl in our forums, they definetly deserva a medal

for top poster medals........how about, we give a permanent medal to anyone who makes it into top10 at all .....then we give another, even better permanant medal 2 whoever makes it into the (top 3 or top 5 i cant decide).....then we give the bestest medal of all to any1 who makes it into the number 1 spot!!!

finally, we will have 10 premade medals with "top posters" and each 1 will have a number 1-10 on it........then, whatever spot sum1 is CURRENTLY on the list will show from their medal in the forums. if sum1 pulls ahead of u, u lose ur medal number and exchange it with the lower number from the person who just beat u

so obviously, the 1st top poster medals i mentioned are rewards 4 every1 who has ever made it in.....the 2nd set of coarse arent permanent and will b switched sum times depending on who takes the leads from who.

I see that our profiles show an amount of medals. Will there be labeled pictures of them on there instead of just a number?

ok points are reset to the number of posts u have. every time u post u get a point. every new topic gets u 3 points. spam will get the points from the spam taken away and an extra point removed for every spam post. points to be used at the WOA shop which is under construction. Reputation system is up too. That is just for fun cause on every post u can click the thanx button or press the + or - sign to add or take away rep. it will have virually no point but is fun.

I think that we need more ways to earn points...I have a few ideas at the moment, but I'll need a while to ponder it.

-I think that we should have admin-hosted contests with a set amount of money as the prizes.

-I think that participating in clan events should earn you a set amount of money.

-I think we should have a Member of the Week, in which you will get a special sig add-on for the week, and a prize of (x) money.

-Admins should be able to give out money bonuses to members on occasion when they are noticed doing something noteworthy and kind.

-A clan achievements system, where accomplishing certain feats gets you certain point awards. (Kind of like Xbox, lol). I know it sounds similar to the awards system, but it's not.
