I'm not sure they would call it wii 2, but I'm sure they could be developing something, it's almost that time again.

well nintendo president said HD is a given in the "Wii HD" thats how it is dubbed, he also said that this Wii 2/HD would truely be the successor of the Wii, and truely be the next generation console, and truely compete with ps3 and 360, he also said the change will be similair from gameboy to gameboy advance. So they might try the dual product approach like sony, with ps3 and ps2, So hopefully wii si casuals and Wii 2/HD is for the hardcores. Maybe a Bluray player would be great, as HD-DVD or even DVD, lost already to Blu-ray.

It would be great if Wii 2 had a blurayplayer, which are relatively cheap around $200, built in i heard a rumor that nintendo has some sort of deal with panasonic, also technology is more cheap, and nintendo made billions so lets hope
