Final Fantasy XIV

I played this game back when it was in beta over a year ago and wasn't too impressed, but I gave it another try recently and damn...It's REALLY good.

The game has the defining characteristics of a Final Fantasy game (great music, amazing visuals, creative monsters, good story, etc) along with all of the elements that I'll oftentimes find missing in other various MMO's. The only issue I have with the game is that it requires a subscription, but with a free 45 days and the quality of the game itself, I don't really mind.

I played early access when it was first released. I really didn't like it. But I heard they managed to pull a 180 when they re-released it and made a comparable MMO.

I never even touched it on the initial release because of everyone saying how bad it was (and knowing how bad FFXI was.) Even when I played the Beta for the re-release I wasn't too impressed, but since then they've polished it into a really solid MMO.

good thing they held the release then, pretty bad in the beta
