dem sonyz with all their mysterious trailers and such. like the one 3 days ago, the one for all stars battle royal and now this. a lot of people are assuming its going to be some kind of announcement for the ps4, or hint, or whatever. thinking about it, that doesnt sound logical

Who knows. Could be some new gimmicky motion control game. the Wall Street Journal is pretty convinced that Sony's next announcement is going to be the PS4.

it has to be something on the ps4, everything is leading up to it. even if it wasnt, with all this hype for it, sony has to show something even if they wernt going to in the first place. by the 3.354897% chance i could be wrong, it would probably be a roundup of whats to come, since they have 3 huge games being made by extremely good developers. if everyones right and it is the ps4, sony trolled the shit out of microsoft with what they said a couple weeks ago. good buisness move. edge released the specs for the consoles. next ps being more powerful than the 360 with ram and gpu, and having basically the same 8 core cpu. both consoles sadly leaving the wii u behind in power

At this point, a new gen release is overdue.

New Square Enix console confirmed.

Either Square Enix has a new software engine to showcase on the alleged "PS4" console, or we're getting a Final Fantasy 15. There's so much hype about it being a next gen console that if they show anything else It'll be a huge letdown.

i was blown away. im not going to explain in detail cause everyone can watch the videos for themselves. but the psn features (game sharing, recording and all that, the ddr5 ram, those games they showed, the graphics, it SCREAMS next gen. only thing i didnt like about it is the touch pad and motion controls. although how mm used the move was amazing

I read that there's no backward compatibility so I guess it wasn't money wasted. Besides I'm playing new PS3 games I just bought.

In any case all I care is that there's yet another new console with games in development and I have to save even more money.

Well my thoughts on this is that its good that it will have the capabilities of a high-end PC, which is good. But that it will not be backwards compatible is a no no for me. But the things about it being more social and sharing is alright for me.

i wouldnt say high end pc, more like midrange. their gaikai service will have backwards compatibility with ps3/ps2/ps1 games but you might have to rebuy them, we dont know yet. it might also be streaming only, but they'll most likely also have them to download like they have with ps1 and ps2 games right now. the problem with this feature is price and/or system architecture. cell BC would raise the price of the console like $100. and if they went for another cell like architecture, the ps4 would be like the ps3 is, harder to develop for.

It seems like they're really pushing the social/functionality integration of the console more than graphical capabilities. I mean, we're not going to see the same leap in graphics as we did with the original PS to the PS2 and the PS2 to the PS3.

it might not be as noticable since ps2 to ps3 was sd to hd, but the ps4 is in fact a decent leap from the ps3. 256ddr3/256xdr ram to 8gb of ddr5 is pretty huge. the killzone demo was an early alpha running on an earlier 4gb of ram modle of the ps4 and it already looked amazing, already running in native 1080p. and the ue4 engine and deep down game was running real time, as of what ive heard from news sources. also, 720p to 1080p contains more pixels than 480p(16:9) to 720p. also physx is said to be on the ps4
