My Epic Find

Alright, so I went over to visit family in Knoxville this past week, and I was at the house that my stepdad used to live in. And then, upon looking around, I come across his old record player. My thoughts: "OOH, a record player. My mom has a bunch of records from when she was younger at home. Maybe I could use this." So I ask my stepdad about it, and HE SAYS WE CAN TAKE IT WITH US. AND I CAN KEEP IT IN MY ROOM. AND I COULD HELP MYSELF TO HIS OLD RECORDS.

So I had a musicgasm. And now I'm sitting in my bedroom at home with a record player on, listening to oldies. x3

Note that there's a bunch of records, but my favorites out of the bunch are from Supertramp, The Beatles, and The Eagles. My stepdad had an ORIGINAL copy of the Hotel California record. And my mom had the Beatles' Abbey Road, and my mom's sister (who left her records behind) had a couple of Supertramp ones, including my favorite album by them, Breakfast In America.

So yeah. Score.

Well, the speakers that go with it are as old as the record player itself. So the sound isn't as "clear" as with modern speakers, but it does have an old-fashioned tone to it, which I definitely like.

And with the speakers disconnected, the music does play just from the needle itself, and is really clear, but is also pretty quiet.

Record players are awesome. Good find Grim.
