I realized that I need to jump on the bandwagon and start doing one of these, but Zelda and Pokemon were already taken...same with "everything." So I thought, "well, what do I know a crap-ton about? Oh right! SUPER SMASH BROS!"

So yeah. Glitches? Want help with a metagame strat? Need stuff unlocked (maybe beating Boss Battle on the hardest difficulty?). I'm your dude. Others, feel free to assist me, like people always do on these things...come to think of it, these types of topics should be changed to universal question threads where anyone can/should answer...

anyway, challenge me.

You can't say no...

Yes. There is a very slight sweet spot on his dair (which can simply create fast downward momentum, but is not technically a spike as it can be cancelled). Also, due to the nature of his "misfire" and bair it is quite easy to achieve a stage spike. It has also been shown that his taunt, when used on an air-borne or ledge hanging enemy, is a spike.

Other tips about luigi:

When falling off the stage, an easy recovery method is to jump and while still in your upward momentum from this jump, use his down special and repeatedly tap "b" to fly high into the air.

An easy way to pull off a Super Jump Punch is to quickly stun the enemy with a simple neutral A attack and then quickly follow up with an up special.

Terms used:
-"dair": Down areal attack
-"spike": an attack that sends the enemy downwards and cannot be cancelled through Directional Influence/meteor canceling.*

*Mashing a direction/attack that alters your trajectory

I have beaten it with all of the characters, but my first success, I BELIEVE, was DK. Spamming his down special is a classic move, and all you have to do is watch out for bombs. (A good place to stand is the middle of the stage, on the ground)

He also has a good horizontal recovery (I doubt you will get knocked up or down) which can clear house when recovering. Not to mention he is a pretty heavy character.

Other suggested characters:
-Pit
-Zelda
-Ike
-Snake
-Sonic
-Pikachu

Suggested for Cruel Brawl:
-Ganondorf
-Fox

Stategies:
There are many good ones, but a great way to burn time is to kill all but two of the foes and they will stop spawning new ones, so you can just proceed to dodge 2 really slow and weak enemies for the rest of the time, just beware of bombs etc.

Well, I had intended this topic to be more or less Brawl based, as it would muddy the brand. I would also guess you already know the answer to this question, and if that is the case, this is not a "let's see how much Ender knows" topic, but a topic to answer legit questions. Not that I actually care though, I like a challenge!

Anyway, I have actually not heard any 100% confirmed codenames, I have heard many rumored codenames though, the most recent is "Project free4all," but this is not likely to be true. Sakurai has, though, heavily hinted at a SSB4 game, particularly on a Nintendo hosted Twitter account.

There currently exists evidence that the tentative title is Super Smash Bros Clash, and could be a handheld...but these things are still essentaily
rumors.

You can avoid all of the attacks, at least temporarily.
Observe:

1. Diddy Kong: Because he can be hard to control and aim with, your best bet is in a small, enclosed location, or to continuously jump off from and re-grab the edge of the level, rendering you relatively immune (this tactic is generally good for most FS's).
2. Ike: This takes a bit of fore-sight, but the best way to dodge this is to do a spot dodge or an areal dodge.
Ike's Final Smash can be cancelled, as can (Toon) Link's Triforce Slash, by attacking at the right time.
Mr. Game and Watch can use his up aerial to make those trapped escape the hits of Great Aether by pumping the trapped upwards. This also happens if a Poké Ball with Latias and Latios or Kyogre is sent out right before the Final Smash is activated. It will be an OHKO on some levels with high floors, but will most liekyl not kill you unless you are over 70% or so.
3. King Dedede: You can either just get out of range, dodge the individual foes, use the edge technique or use an attack the renders you momentarily invulnerable, ie: Aether, Rock Bottom, and Magic Shield.
4. Lucario: Stand in the middle of the level and after the word "Aura" see which way the blast is going to go and quickly roll dodge the other way. Because lucario turns very slowly, if he aims in the other direction from you, he will not be able to reverse long enough to significantly damage you.
5. Lucas: Stay close to lucas as fewer bolts seem to strike near him and then spot dodge wisely. Dont forget you can attack lucas just before the FS ends. Also, quickly doing the edge technique works as well.
6. Meta Knight: This has deceptive range (but can also glitch out and fail sometimes). Just Try to stay away. You can try to spot dodge, but the attack has a staggered hit box (and a slight lag) that make this tricky. Dont expect it to kill you if you are under 50% and don't forget that even if you are not hit by the cape, the move has a large hit radius once it succeeds in activation.
7. Pikmin & Olimar: Meta Knight, R.O.B and Pit are the only characters that can completely avoid Olimar's Final Smash without help from platforms. Jigglypuff, Charizard, Kirby, and King Dedede can dodge it too, but they are going to need a platform to kick start their jumps high enough to avoid the Final Smash. of Day can be avoided by characters with high vertical recovery like Pit, R.O.B., and Meta Knight, or characters with multiple midair jumps such as Kirby, Jigglypuff, and King Dedede although it may be difficult to tell if you are going to land on the ground or not, or if you are within range of the ship's attack when it falls. The full bulborb damage is not very substantial, averaging 40%.
8. Pit: ALL TROOPS! MOVE OUT! Side stepping is pretty easy and the troops dont really hurt you too much, but have high knock back when they swarm on you. Try to move around a lot. This FS is very easy to dodge on large levels.
9. Pokemon Trainer: When the player activates the FS, jump and pray like crazy that you managed to get above the blast/over the player. Also, the blast is very small and can simply be avoided entirely. If you stand right in front of the initiated attack, you will be kocked upwards a bit and thus avoid the assault.
10. R.O.B.: The edge tech. works very well here, just try to avoid ROB's plain attacks. The only kill potential this FS really has is the end of the combo when he blasts a short burst from his eyes, doing this about 5 times which has massive knock back. Just avoid that and you will be fine.
11. Solid Snake: Very easy to dodge with a mixture of spot and areal dodges, just dont stand still.
12. Sonic the Hedgehog: With a less experienced Sonic, you can simply use the edge tech, but for more experienced players, try to stand still and time a good spot dodge to simply dodge the incoming missile that is the hedgehog, it takes practice, but as Sonic is hard to control, a few dodges should time him out as he needs to pick up speed to actually be effective.
13. Wario: Genera; evasive maneuvers. As this is not a conventional FS, there are no special ways to counter it. Try to convince the player to active the bike.
14. Wolf: One of the best FS in the game, it can roll over you, shoot you, or carry you off and lasts long enough to do this twice. Your best bet is a constant edge tech, but if he happens to get under you, roll or use horizontal propulsory attacks to get off of the top. He doesnt have as much jet fuel as Falco, so if he uses the fuel to swoop down under you while you are edge teching, he may not have enough gas to actually kill you, but be wary.
15. Bowser: Effective edge teching is good here, especially with tether recoveries. You can just dodge him or even hurt him with projectiles to shorten the duration. He is actually not too strong and may need a few well-placed smashes to kill you.
16. Captain Falcon: This attack as an unusual range, as it is about 1.5 character lengths away from him, but no more and no less. So Stay very close or very far from the captain. This can also be spot/areal dodged. Also note that the more players hit at once, the weaker the attack.c
17. Donkey Kong: Unless you get caught up in it, even a "rhythmic" DK FS will most likely not be very dangerous, just stay away. If you DO get caught in it, DI out of it with a mix of areal dodges. DI (directional influence) is the practice of using the control stick to alter your areal trajectory and allows you to escape from many combo attacks and even death.
18. Falco Lombardi: As with Wolf, edge tech is goo here, but not AS good as falco can easily swoop in below you and carry you off. Carrying you off the screen is his primary kill method as his rolls and shots are weak and can easily be avoided. Just stay off of the Land Master. Only a few characters are fast enough to get off of him when flying, ie: Sonic, Fox, Pikachu, etc.
19. Fox McCloud: Kinda' sucks. This lasts for a while, but you can easily dodge his shots and being over him is not much of a problem when you are trying to avoid a roll attack as he BARELY has enough juice to MAYBE carry you off once. The edge tech is very effective here as he cannot swoop under you and carry you off.
20. Ganondorf: Very long horizontal range that stuns you. Try to jump over it. Will most likely not kill you under around 50%. As Ganon, for a sure hit first use a flame choke then instantly initiate the FS.
21. Ice Climbers: On small levels, just stay off the ground vie jumping or edge teching. on larger levels, just stand away. You can use it to your advantage as on most levels, the Ice Climbers themselves can have difficulties getting over it and can get separated easily this way.
22. Jigglypuff: Just stand far away. If the Giga Jiggly Glitch is used, you are screwed.
23. Kirby: There are many ways to avoid this Final Smash. Most of these require precise timing. The simplest way to dodge is to perform any of the following while Kirby is banging his utensils:
If one is ledgegrabbing, then the player will not be sucked in. (you have to be on the ledge farthest away from Kirby for it to work.)
-Zelda/Sheik can avoid the move with a perfectly timed Transform. --Also, Pokemon Trainer can avoid it by doing a perfectly timed Pokemon Change.
-Marth and Ike's Counter will prevent this attack from damaging them, if timed correctly.
-Also can be air dodged and spot dodged quite easily when timed correctly.
-Meta Knight's Mach Tornado will prevent Kirby's attack from working as well.
-Lucario's Double Team also prevents the attack from working, if timed correctly.
-Jigglypuff's Rest will also negate the final smash if timed correctly.
-Olimar can continuously use Pikmin Pluck to avoid the attack. The Pikmin will fly into the pot as they are pulled out, but this requires extremely rapid button mashing.
24. (Toon) Link: You can dodge the Triforce Slash by air dodging. The Triforce will appear around you for a second, but then disappear. It only works if you dodge between the time he holds his hand up, and the beam of light actually shoots out.
-If R.O.B. uses his Up-smash attack just before Toon Link activates Triforce Slash, Toon Link will throw the Triforce, but "slingshot" forward without slashing, and in most cases, self-destruct himself.
-You can escape the Triforce Slash if Togepi uses Earthquake right beside the Triforce Slash.
-If the Triforce Slash tries to grab the secondary Ice Climber during his/her invincibility period of Belay, then the attack will fail. However, for the rest of that stock, the secondary Climber's special effects - such as the puffs of smoke from dashing or jumping - will be played at a reduced speed.
-If the Triforce Slash targets the following Ice Climber, and the leader is killed, the targeted Ice climber will disappear and leave Link slashing nothing. Additionally, the Triforce will not explode at the end, it will instead be merely pushed and vanish. If this happens while Link is dashing over to them, he'll keep going and probably dash off the edge.
-When in a stamina match, if the person in the Triforce Slash loses all HP, they will fall out and Link/Toon Link will continue to use the Triforce Slash with nothing caught inside of it.
-Toon Link's version can be canceled by throwing an item just at the right time. The Triforce will only appear for a split second, and will then disappear.
-Pit can partly block the Final Smash by using his forward smash or his dash attack, taking the damage but canceling the knockback. However, one must time this move perfectly.
-If Marth or Ike uses counter on Link or Toon Link's final smash, it will cancel. However this must be timed perfectly.
-The Triforce Slash will sometimes fail upon connecting. The Triforce will appear around the target for a second, as if it was air dodged, but disappears, and the character gets 30% damage without knockback. This can be caused by certain terrains, such as the crest of a hill getting in Link/Toon Link's way. Don't expect to be killed unless about 40% or so (and near the center of the stage).
25. Luigi: Just stand far away or try to roll or fall out of the boundary of captured. Remember that even while respawing, you can be affected.
26. Mario: You don't really even have to dodge this as it is so pathetic, but it's almost hard NOT to dodge it anyway. The only way he is going to hit you is if you are standing directly in front of him.
27. Marth: Since the move is nothing more than a single hit, launch resistance such as that gained from using Aether can be used to survive, providing good timing. Of course, this will not stop the target from taking the move's full damage. Characters can also dodge this attack by sidestepping or using an air dodge; Marth will try to attack the dodging character but will miss, however, if triggering the strike immediately at the right time, the stirke will ignore the sidestep and sucessfully hit the target. Marth can cancel the attack by pressing the special move button at any time during the attack.
This move can oddly be cancelled by Double Team.
28. Mr. Game & Watch: Just dodge this normally...the edge tech can work here too.
29. Ness: Same as lucas.
30. Pikachu: This attack, even when used correctly, is pretty weak and will most likely just WOP you. Ii is also very hard to control and mostly moves in a circular fashion. Just general dodging works here.
31. Princess Peach: As with any cause of sleep, only characters that are grounded are effected. Characters with many jumps, slow falling speed, and/or good recovery moves can remain airborne during the entire Final Smash. Other ways of avoiding the Final Smash include grabbing edges, wall clinging, and grabbing ladders. The farther away you are, the less you sleep.
32. Princess Zelda/Sheik: Just dodge the tracking laser anyway you want, you can spam the edge tech, but beware of the smart player jumping off of the edge and shooting your hanging body. If you bounce into other victims in mid-air, you can save yourself.
33. Samus Aran/ZSS: Not very powerful and indeed has a low kill rate, but can be avoided by simply navigating away. It should also be noted that Pit's Mirror Shield, pointed upwards, can negate all but the final blast of the Final Smash. Whether this is a glitch or not is unknown. / Just stand far away from ZSS, this attack has high knock back and a vac. effect.
34. Yoshi: The edge tech works well here as yoshi is hard to control.

I think that about covers it...?

Interesting note: I once got a kill from an Ike FS...when I was Ganondorf (my main). I have a replay in which it is an online team match and my partner Ike has hit both foes with his GREAT.....AETHERRRRRR! And just as he touches down I deliver a Warlock Punch and punch them (the foes) BOTH out of the attack and get two kills.

I cried at the beauty.

@lloyd. As I learned from tengen toppa gurren lagann, the answer to all questions of this nature is simple:
"Mushrooms." :awsome:

@lloyd again. Well, you posted the question as I was typing this, but I submitted it anyway as I decided not to open your spoiler...then I edited.
