if you say anything based around stats you fail.

I GO WITH THE CUTEST :D i also normally pick fire . also i take gyms into aspect. usually its a rock gym at first, so i train it up untill it learns a steel, or fighting move...or untill its powerfull enough to kick major ass

When I can't decide, I roll a dice.
1 or 6: Grass Starter
2 or 5: Fire Starter
3 or 4: Water Starter

always fire. It is a great type, and it is also the tupe that is the hardest to find in the wild (or atleast a good pokemon who isn't legendary). So unless you want a crappy ponyta or growlith in your team, go with the only good fire pokemon: the starter.

also, infernape, charizard, typhlosion and Blazieken rule

personaly i dispise having to use practicly all the starters , except for my fave squirtle.

what i normaly do is figure out what i want my real starter to be then when givin the ability catch it then release my beginer starter.

releasing it doesnt affect anything actualy sense i see it and its other forms from in game trainers :)

Frost, I got no prob w/ Water starters. Hell, when I played FR/LG, I chose Squirtle first. And when I got Crystal, I chose Totodile first. And Funky can choose who he wants... even if they aren't the best.

How often can you catch a different color or shiny pokemon.
What pokemon can learn Thunder, Hydro pump, Solar beam, Fire Blast, and Blizzard? Which isnt Legendary?

Shiny pokemon have a 1/5082 chance of appearing. Or something like that. And I think Clefable can learn all of those moves beside Solarbeam.

Good try but the answer is,(drum roll) Gyarados!
I had a gameshark on silver version and i was training, so i used super rod to fight lv 40 Lugia and then after like 30 times i got a shiny one. Oh yeah my brother caught a shiny pokemon as well.
Do you know what is the fastest way to catch a shiny pokemon?

Re: The General Pokemon Q&A Thread

Post by Funky Road on Wed Dec 23, 2009 8:37 am

Basically its kinda tricky if you know how
cuz I've come close before but i'm sure it works
But this only works for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

U need the pokeradar, LOTS of max repels, pokemon that are similar in level to the ones you are trying to catch depending on what area you are in, for exampl route 201 you'd need like level 5 pokemon if you are lookin for a low level starly

another thing to make sure of is that you are in a VERY large area of grass (wild pokemon grass if you are stupid enough not to know what I'm talking about)

This trick is best used for swarm pokemon, or a random pokemon that Sinnoh Now news, or Dawn's Sister, tell's you about

U need to make a so-called "chain"

Just for the record Youtube can explain this better than me

But anyway, make sure that when u use Pokeradar hav your max repel on, and that you go to the grass that doesn't shake the most

it's gonna take a long time, but patience is key. It could take over 30 times, and yes that is possible, it can even happen on the 2nd time, that's even possible if you are that lucky
But once after lots of patience of waiting, once you see a peice of grass that's REALLY shiny i mean it sparkles up, THATS your shiny pokemon

OH and btw, make sure you have some pokeballs and that you dont kill if you are aiming to catch it

But other than that you either need pure luck, or an Action Replay for that gaming system of pokemon you are playing

But Legendary Pokemon such as Groudon and Dialga....... the best way is to save before you battle the beast and keep turning the game off then on and until it is shiny

Good Luck! ;)

So Here is the trick in catching shiny pokemon.
You need action replay.
Well you need to go fight "the red" gyarados but before you do use the action replay to make him into any pokemon you want like Mewtwo.
Its recommended that you have 2 of the game as you will have to erase the game to catch more shiny pokemon
