big words

Post by Tal on Sat Jul 11, 2009 11:03 am

idk it came up that day the flamer kirby (not kirbyownsyou) came
i called him a trogladite and used the word leverage after, and everyone was WOW'ed by my surprisingly big vocab. lol
anyway, just post a big word, the definition of it, and use it in a sentence (underline it to make it easy to spot) It's like school all over again lol
it doesn't necessarily have to be big, as long as it's an intelligent, uncommonly used word

Acerbity- harshness or severityry
The acerbity of Drew's anger during the fight was off the charts.

:p XD i know a good one

Deoxyribonucleic acid ITS YOUR DNA!!!! YAY!1 Razz it's the second best i could think of besides the one i got from Marry Poppins :p

Heres another one: with the description within :p XD

Greek
In his comedy Assemblywomen (c. 392 BC) Aristophanes coined the 183-letter word λοπαδοτεμαχοσελαχογαλεοκρανιολειψανοδριμυποτριμματοσιλφιοκαραβομελιτοκατακεχυμενοκιχλεπικοσσυφοφαττοπεριστεραλεκτρυονοπτοκεφαλλιοκιγκλοπελειολαγῳοσιραιοβαφητραγανοπτερύγων. A fictional food dish consisting of a combination of fish, poultry and other meat, it is cited as the longest ancient Greek word ever written.

and i am guessing this is the translation: Lopadotemakhoselakhogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphiokarabomelitokatakekhymenokikhlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryonoptokephalliokigklopeleiolagōiosiraiobaphētraganopterýgōn

Yup

189,819 letters

The full chemical name for titin

It's too big to fit in a post, so... you can see it here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061113221628AAxlNn5

BTW I'm surprised I didn't see this post before (I don't look at the forum games much anymore) because I love big words, it's funny using big words in normal conversation because you sound like a fag, lol
